PHOENIX — Congress may re-hire special prosecutor Robert Mueller if he’s fired, according to a suggestion by U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.).

“If he were to be removed — however it’s done, by the assistant attorney general or a new one, Congress would assert its prerogatives.” Flake said in an interview with MSNBC. “And that would mean hiring a special prosecutor, and that might even be Bob Mueller.”

Mueller, the former FBI director who was appointed in May to lead an investigation into possible collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign, was — as of Thursday — using a grand jury as part of the probe.

Trump is insistent that there is no collusion to be found between his presidential campaign and the Russians, though Mueller has come under fire from some on the right who say he isn’t impartial.

A story from the Associated Press last month said Trump is confident the Mueller-led probe will conclude he’s done nothing wrong, according to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Current Speaker Paul Ryan (R) said Trump’s rumored desire to fire Mueller was just that: rumor.

Echoing accusations that Mueller is acting with partisan bias, U.S. Rep. Trent Franks said Mueller should resign.

Flake wants nothing more than for the liberal media to love him. He knows he's going to lose reelection in the Republican primary and is already looking for another job.

No he is not..But he is apprehensive to run against Flake..Again I must ask why you use McLame's big money attack against Kelli Ward in all your comments.. If McLame goes down and Ducey appoints Ward and Dewitt does not run we could end up with a libturd worse than Flake in there..Flake is ripe for a beatdown..

Sinema will never be elected. She is a do nothing until election year and acts like she is so concerned about our Vets. When the election is over she hibernates again.
