Flagstaff 15-year-old arrested in rec center shooting incident

PHOENIX — Two people were shot and one died at a recreation center in Flagstaff on Friday and according to police, one of those shot has been arrested.

A 15-year-old male was arrested by the Flagstaff Police Department on Tuesday night and has been charged with killing Jacob Allen, 20, in the men’s restroom at Hal Jensen Recreation Center.

The 15-year-old will be charged as an adult.

Police responded to Hal Jensen Recreation Center at about 5 p.m. on Friday and declared Allen deceased on the scene. They do not believe this was a random incident, and say they know two guns were involved but only one has been found.

Flagstaff PD found two males had been shot when they arrived, but didn’t arrest the 15-year-old until Tuesday when he was released from the Flagstaff Medical Center.

The suspect’s name is being withheld because of his age.
