Arizona flags fly at half-staff in honor of former Attorney General Mark Brnovich

PHOENIX – Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs ordered flags on state buildings to be lowered to half-staff on Wednesday in honor of former Attorney General Mark Brnovich.

Brnovich died of a heart attack at age 59, his family announced Tuesday.

The Arizona Governor’s Office encourages individuals, businesses and other organizations to lower their flags to pay tribute to Brnovich’s life in public service.

In addition to two terms as the state’s top prosecutor, he served as the director of the Arizona Department of Gaming and was a federal and Maricopa County prosecutor.

“I’m saddened by the passing of former Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich. I’m thinking of his family and loved ones during this difficult time,” Hobbs said in a social media post on Tuesday.
