PHOENIX — An 80-foot Ferris wheel is expected to open later this month at Arizona Boardwalk, the entertainment complex along Loop 101 on the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community.
The Boardwalk SkyWheel features 18 fully enclosed, air-conditioned gondolas that each seat up to six adults. Rides last five to eight minutes and offer 360-degree views of the surrounding Valley.
The wheel is fitted with full-color LED lighting that illuminates the structure after dark. It sits behind Butterfly Wonderland and is visible from the freeway.
“I’ve always wanted to add a ride of this magnitude to our entertainment destination, and as we celebrate 10 years of Arizona Boardwalk, it feels like the perfect moment to bring it to life,” Arizona Boardwalk CEO Amram Knishinsky said in a statement.
How much will the Ferris wheel cost?
Tickets are $9 for the first rider and $6 for each additional guest in the same gondola. Discounts of up to 40% are available when bundled with other Arizona Boardwalk attractions.
An exact opening date has not been announced. The company said it will post updates on its social media accounts.
