FBI agent fatally shoots Arizona suspect who allegedly pulled out weapon

PHOENIX – An FBI task force agent fatally shot a suspect Monday morning on tribal land in northern Arizona, authorities said.

The shooting occurred around 7:45 a.m. after the suspect allegedly pulled out a weapon, according to the Navajo Police Department.

Agents were executing a warrant in the Hopi Reservation village of Moenkopi at the time. Moenkopi is located about 75 miles northeast of Flagstaff.

The suspect, whose name was not released, died after being taken to a hospital in nearby Tuba City, authorities said. No task force members were injured.

The FBI’s Inspection Division is reviewing the shooting.
