20-year-old man dead, woman injured in west Phoenix shooting

A west Phoenix shooting on Tuesday left 20-year-old Jacob Higadera dead and a woman injured, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

PHOENIX — A 20-year-old man is dead following a shooting in west Phoenix on Tuesday, authorities said.

Officers with the Phoenix Police Department responded to reports of a shooting near Indian School Road and 67th Avenue shortly after 7 p.m.

They found Jacob Higadera and an unidentified woman with apparent gunshot wounds.

Both were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, where Higadera died and the woman is receiving treatment, police said.

Detectives are trying to figure out what led up to the fatal Phoenix shooting.
