Man accused of fatally shooting girlfriend in Peoria mobile home park

An argument between a couple in the West Valley left one dead and one arrested Thursday night, authorities said.

An argument between a couple in a Peoria mobile home park left one dead and one arrested Thursday night, authorities said.

David Koepke, 53, was booked on one count of second-degree murder, according to the Peoria Police Department.

Officers responded to the area of 71st and Olive Avenues at 6:30 p.m. after he reported that he had shot his girlfriend, police said.

Responding officers found the victim, 68-year-old Yvette Appleby, with multiple gunshot wounds.

She was brought to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Koepke is being held on a $1 million bond.
