Phoenix officials holding grand opening to celebrate new city park in Laveen

PHOENIX — A new park in Laveen is set to officially open on Saturday.

Officials with the city of Phoenix will gather at Farmland Park on Saturday for a grand opening at 8:30 a.m.

Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, Councilmember Carlos Galindo-Elvira and officials with the city’s parks and recreation department are set to speak at the event.

The park in Laveen, a Phoenix neighborhood, is at 2323 South 87th Ave.

What’s unique about Farmland Park in Laveen?

Amenities at the park include a playground, two basketball courts and two pickleball courts.

There is also a skate park, a walking path, ramadas and an open turf area.

Those looking to get a free workout can also use the park’s exercise equipment.
