Pilot safely lands plane on East Valley canal bank after mechanical problem
A small plane made a safe emergency landing on an East Valley canal bank Tuesday morning, authorities said.

PHOENIX – A small plane made a safe emergency landing on an East Valley canal bank Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The pilot brought the aircraft down alongside the Consolidate Canal near Gilbert Road and Main Street in Mesa after it experienced a mechanical problem, according to the Mesa Fire Department.
Nobody was injured on the ground or in the plane, which was not damaged during the emergency landing.
Authorities are working to recover the aircraft.
The incident occurred just over a week after a pilot safely landed an amphibious plane on a central Phoenix roadway after losing power on April 12.

This is like the 3rd time in the past month.
Maybe there should be some higher level of oversight on the maintenance of these toys. That would be better than tying up the entire Mesa police force and risking the lives of the citizens.
