Embry Health offers New Year’s Day COVID tests at 9 metro Phoenix sites

PHOENIX – Embry Health will have nine COVID-19 testing sites open in metro Phoenix on New Year’s Day as demand soars during the holiday season and the omicron variant rapidly spreads.
Testing will be available Saturday at the following sites:
- Peoria Sports Complex, 16101 N. 83rd Ave., Peoria
- Estrella Mountain Community College, 3000 N. Dysart Road, Avondale
- Phoenix College, 3100-3148 N. 11th Ave. parking lot, Phoenix
- Metro Center, 9803 N. Metro Parkway, Phoenix
- Chaparral Business Center, 8840 E. Chaparral Road, Scottsdale
- Mesa Community College, 1833 W. Southern Ave., Mesa
- Poston Butte High School, 32375 N. Gantzel Road, San Tan Valley
- South Price Road 24-hour testing center, 3350 S. Price Road, Tempe
- Chandler-Gilbert Community College, 2626 E. Pecos Road, Chandler
Embry, which is based in Phoenix, runs more than 70 test sites in Arizona. For additional options, the Arizona Department of Health Services has an online directory with more than 450 test providers statewide.
Embry provides standard PCR testing at no cost but charges for rapid options. Appointments can be scheduled online.
The health care network reported a record 25,000 test appointments on Tuesday and pushed the mark above 26,000 the next day.
On Monday, Embry announced it had reached the milestone of completing 1.6 million COVID tests during the course of the pandemic.
The provider also revealed plans to open more than 100 new testing sites nationwide by the end of January, including more than 80 in the Phoenix area.
The expansion plans include an additional 500 employees.
Embry also operates in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Florida and is looking to move into other states.
