Elderly man dead after being found in west Phoenix pool

PHOENIX — An elderly man has died after being pulled from a pool in west Phoenix on Monday, authorities said.

Firefighters responded to a residence near 39th Avenue and Cactus Road at about 3:30 p.m., where they found the man.

He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, where he later was pronounced dead.

No other information was immediately available.
