East Valley drivers to face minor freeway restrictions this weekend

PHOENIX — Drivers in the East Valley will face the most freeway restrictions this weekend, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

In Chandler, the westbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway will be narrowed to one lane from the Loop 101 Price Freeway to Kyrene Road from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement improvements.

The Loop 101 ramp to westbound Loop 202, off-ramp at Kyrene Road and westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at McClintock Drive will be closed during that time.

Also in Chandler, Loop 101 will be narrowed to two lanes from Chandler Boulevard to Frye Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a widening project.

The southbound Loop 101 off-ramp at Price Road will also be closed.

Additionally, Chandler Road will be closed in both directions at the Loop 101 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday for a widening project.

In west Phoenix, the northbound Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway ramp to eastbound Interstate 10 will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for barrier work.

The right two lanes of eastbound I-10 between 63rd and 55th avenues will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday for the same barrier work.

The eastbound I-10 on-ramp at 67th Avenue will also be closed during the closure.

In the Northeast Valley, southbound Loop 303 will be closed from Waddell to Cactus roads from 10 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday and from Bell to Greenway roads from 10 p.m. Saturday to noon Sunday for installation of traffic flow sensors as part of a freeway technology project.

Finally, the westbound I-10 off-ramp at 67th Avenue will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday in the West Valley for landscaping.

The westbound I-10 frontage road between 51st and 67th avenues will also be closed during that time for construction.
