Earnhardt Auto Centers made a surprise donation of $25,075 to Child Crisis Arizona on Wednesday as part of a series of charitable gifts tied to the dealership group’s 75th anniversary.

Child Crisis Arizona provides emergency shelter, foster care, adoption services, counseling, early education and family support programs for children and families across the state.

The donation is one of several anniversary gifts the Earnhardt family has made to Phoenix-area nonprofits in recognition of the company milestone and in memory of founder Tex Earnhardt, who started the dealership group in 1951.

“There is nothing more basic than making sure a child has somewhere safe to sleep tonight,” said Nature Earnhardt, the dealership’s media director.

Torrie Taj, CEO of Child Crisis Arizona, said the organization has had a long relationship with the Earnhardt family.

“A gift like this arrives at the moment a family needs it most,” Taj said.

Child Crisis Arizona previously honored the Earnhardt family with its Spirit of Philanthropy Award in 2018 and Legacy of Love Award in 2022.

Other organizations that have received anniversary donations from Earnhardt Auto Centers include the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley, the 100 Club of Arizona, the Arizona Humane Society, Ava’s Treehouse at the Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children, Make-A-Wish Arizona and St. Mary’s Food Bank.

Earnhardt Auto Centers operates 17 new-car dealerships representing 15 brands and employs more than 2,000 people.
