Early-morning fire burns through small Phoenix business

PHOENIX – A fire at a commercial strip mall near a gas station was limited to one business early Tuesday, first responders said.

The Phoenix Fire Department said in a press release the blaze near Glendale and 21st avenues also produced heavy smoke but that crews managed to contain the flames where it started, inside a metal-machining shop.

There were no reported injuries, a fire official said.

Cause of the blaze is under investigation.
