PHOENIX — After years of success in the Valley, Dutch Bros. Coffee is heading south.

The Oregon-based company is set to open its first store in Tucson, the Tucson Daily Star reported.

It was expected to open in the fall and will be located at the corner of South Wilmot Road and East Broadway Boulevard, where Mimi’s Cafe used to stand.

The developers, Cole Valley Partners, were awaiting approval on the 824-square-foot shop’s plans and while they could get cleared this week, there was no set date for completion.

Dutch Bros, founded by Dane and Travis Boersma, has more than 20 locations in Arizona. After originating in Oregon, the company has since expanded to seven states.

In addition to the Tucson store, Dutch Bros. also ventured to Chase Field this year. The coffee establishment will be serving hot and iced drinks including the cold brew mocha, iced Rebels and the classic iced Kicker.
