Driver arrested for DUI in connection with north Phoenix crash that left man critically injured

A man was arrested for DUI after a crash in north Phoenix that left another driver hospitalized early Saturday morning, authorities said.
Officers responded just after 1 a.m. to multiple reports of an injury collision in the area of Seventh Avenue and Bell Road, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
Fire crews extricated the first driver, identified as an adult man, before taking him to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The second driver was also taken to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. He was then processed for DUI, police said.
Authorities did not say what led to the crash.
The investigation into the north Phoenix collision is ongoing.
