PHOENIX — If you have a daily commute in the Phoenix area, take note: Your city may be near the top of the list of the best cities to drive in.
WalletHub, a financial website, compiled various metrics to yield a list of the “Best & Worst Cities to Drive In.” Coming in at No. 2 on the list was Gilbert, Ariz.
But other Arizona cities, like Mesa (4), Scottsdale (9) and Chandler (11) were near the top. Phoenix proper came in at No. 33, and Tucson was 29th.
The list ranked the 100 biggest cities in the country based on “25 key indicators of driver friendliness.” Those criteria included annual hours spent in traffic, the number of rainy days, car theft rate, gas prices and more. Those measurements were then split into four main categories: “Cost of Ownership and Maintenance,” “Traffic and Infrastructure,” “Safety Rank” and “Access to Vehicles and Maintenance.”
Gilbert was No. 1 in the country in Safety Rank. It was also No. 1 in the lowest rate of car thefts.

The lagging left arrows seem to work quite well. But the yellow left arrows that flash during a green light are just plain stupid.
Lagging left turn time is safest and best for traffic flow. Phoenix traffic control division didn't want to change because Scottsdale changed theirs first I was told by someone who worked in that division at the time.
It’s obvious they don’t live in this community! It has some of the deadliest intersections in the entire valley. And your left turn signal lights is a guessing game as to will it be a leading or a lagging? Don’t charge our left turn signal lights in this community.
