DPS: 1 person dead after 5-vehicle crash on I-10 in Tempe

PHOENIX — One person is dead following a crash involving five vehicles on Interstate 10 in Tempe around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night, according to authorities.

A vehicle was reportedly hit from behind and that began a chain reaction as both vehicles lost control.

One of the vehicles collided with three other vehicles, causing one to roll over and eject the driver who wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

The driver who was ejected from the vehicle later died, according to authorities.

No other information was immediately available.

The investigation of the crash is ongoing.
