Doughbird set to open 2nd Phoenix pizza/chicken restaurant

Oct 24, 2023, 2:00 PM

PHOENIX — Fox Restaurant Concepts will open the doors to its second Phoenix Doughbird location on Wednesday.

Doughbird’s menu is rooted in house-made pizzas and juicy rotisserie chicken. The new uptown location on Seventh Street south of Bethany Home Road, will also sprinkle in staples from Fly Bye To Go, another Fox Restaurant Concepts restaurant.

Beyond the menu, the restaurant has a central bar equipped with big-screen TVs and plush seating. When weather permits, retractable garage doors will treat guests to a breezy, sunny, indoor/outdoor ambiance.

The concept opened its first location at 44th Street and Indian School Road in 2016. Doughbird also has a Tucson location that opened earlier this year.

“Doughbird has been a favorite in the Valley since day one, so it’s an exciting milestone for us to grow where it all began,” Sam Fox, founder of Fox Restaurant Concepts, said in a press release. “The best part about Doughbird is the unexpected flavors and ideas that seem unusual, but at first bite, they make total sense.”

Menu highlights include specialty hand-stretched pizzas like The Aviator, made with pepperoni, Italian sausage, Nueske’s bacon, crushed tomato sauce and mozzarella, and the Copper Hat with prosciutto, goat cheese, Medjool date, salted pistachio and arugula.

As the restaurant’s name implies, there is also chicken, fried or cooked low and slow on the rotisserie.

Alcoholic beverages include a selection of wines and local craft beers as well as innovative cocktails including the Spicy Blackberry Margarita, made with Blanco tequila, habanero pepper, tajin and fresh lime, and The Local, made with strawberry infused vodka, French grapefruit liqueur, lemon and sparkling wine.

The new Doughbird will be open daily for lunch and dinner with dine-in, takeout and curbside pick-up. Happy Hour is Monday to Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. with drink deals starting at $4 and food deals starting at $8.

We want to hear from you.
