Details released for Rage Against the Machine concert in Phoenix area

PHOENIX – In November, Rage Against the Machine announced that Phoenix would be part of a five-date reunion tour, but no site or ticket information was revealed.

On Monday, the politically charged rap-rock pioneers filled in the blanks – and then some.

It turns out the March 30 Phoenix show – which will actually be in Glendale at Gila River Arena – is an early stop on what will be a seven-month “Public Service Announcement” world tour.

Tickets for the Valley concert, with opening act Run the Jewels, go on sale at 11 a.m. Thursday.

All proceeds from the stops in Phoenix and El Paso, Texas, where the tour will kick off March 26, will be donated to immigrant rights groups, the band said.

The tour is set to run through a Sept. 12 show in Austria.

Rage Against the Machine formed in Los Angeles in 1991 and has since released four albums, the most recent in 2000.

The band last performed together live in 2011.

According to Setlist.FM, Rage’s last Arizona appearance was in December 1999 at America West Arena (now Talking Stick Resort Arena).
