Truck driver in deadly Goodyear cycling crash sentenced to year in prison
The driver involved in a deadly cycling crash in Goodyear in February 2023 has been sentenced to a year in prison.

The driver involved in a deadly cycling crash in Goodyear in February 2023 has been sentenced after pleading guilty to a dozen misdemeanor counts.
More than two years after the crash happened, Pedro Quintana Lujan pleaded guilty to 12 misdemeanor counts for either causing death or injury by a moving violation.
During a court hearing Thursday, Quintana Lujan was sentenced to one year in jail and three years of probation. The judge sentenced him to six months for one count and six months for a second count, to run consecutively.
Additionally, Lujan will have his driving privileges suspended for 180 days and will pay a fine of at least $2,500.
“There’s a certain part of finality that this is coming to its conclusion,” said Clay Wells, a victim in the crash. Wells was the last of the victims in the crash to get out of the hospital and has since been recovering.

What a bunch of BS.
He claimed it was a mechanical issue but no issue could be found.
Our county attorneys office decided not to pursue felony charges due to lack of evidence? Our county attorney only pursues cases she knows for a fact she can win, if there is any doubt she bails, afraid it will tarnish her record. It then got referred to the Goodyear courts where prosecutors could only pursue misdemeanor charges. If it's not one thing it's another.
1 year for killing two people and injuring many? This is beyond amazing.
Justice is blind, but in Maricopa county it's also obviously highly incompetent.
What a miscarriage of justice for those killed and injured.
A lack of evidence should never be confused for a lack of intestinal fortitude.
yeah I'm sure what these victims friends and families are feeling is a sense of closure.... The utter ridiculousness of this case and it's anti justice not only screams corruption but. Hmmm. Let's Let think for a minute....perhaps more important things to do then sit in prison.... . Driver fatigue huh. Driving what where?
