Crews fully contain 377 Fire in northeast-central Arizona

PHOENIX — Another major fire in Arizona has officially been contained.

Crews reached 100 percent containment on the so-called 377 Fire in northeast-central Arizona on Saturday, nearly two weeks after the human-caused blaze about four miles northeast of Heber-Overgaard began, according to InciWeb.

It would burn more than 4,500 acres and would temporarily shut down two state highways.

High winds, low humidity and high temperatures caused issues for crews trying to contain it.

About 42 firefighters continued to treat the fire on Sunday.

State Route 377 and State Route 277 were both closed or restricted for a time as the fire continued to burn.

Navajo County Sheriff’s officials said the fire was caused by someone dragging a tailgate from a trailer.
