Driver dies after crashing into tree, getting ejected from vehicle in east Mesa

A man died after crashing into a tree and getting ejected from his vehicle in east Mesa early Thursday, authorities said.

PHOENIX – A man died after crashing into a tree in east Mesa early Thursday, authorities said.

The single-vehicle collision occurred around 2:30 a.m. near Ellsworth and Guadalupe roads, according to the Mesa Police Department.

The driver and sole occupant, 28-year-old Justin Fisher, was ejected from the vehicle after hitting a curb on the north side of Guadalupe Road and crashing into a tree.

Fisher was pronounced dead at the scene just west of Ellsworth Road.

Police said speed was considered a factor in the crash.

No other details were made available.
