Crash closes I-10 at SR 143 in Phoenix during rush hour

A crash at Interstate 10 westbound near State Route 143 brought traffic to a standstill during Friday rush hour. There was no time for the westbound lanes to reopen.

PHOENIX — Westbound Interstate 10 was closed at State Route 143 during rush hour due to a crash, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The transition ramp to I-10 west is also closed.

The eastbound lanes were unaffected.

The lanes reopened late Friday night.
