Coyote takes nap in fireplace of Scottsdale house

The calmest coyote in the world can teach a lesson to grumpsters on waking up with grace.

Scottsdale Police responded to a call from a homeowner this week, who got an unexpected visit from a coyote. The animal had made its away in the man’s house and parked itself on the fireplace grate for a nap.

The man called police, the animal slept. Guys gently prodded the coyote with a long-handled broom. The coyote barely flinched.

Finally, animal handlers from the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center arrived to safely crate up the creature and take it back to its site.

For a wild animal, it seemed to be a better uninvited houseguest than the cousin who suddenly shows up at the doorstep with several suitcases and their guitar, asking, “Hey, can I crash here for a couple days?” Two months later, they cannot be dislodged from the sofa and won’t stop playing “Hey There Delilah.”
