Courthouse Fire in Tonopah leaves 73 homes without power

PHOENIX — A fire southwest of Tonopah has burned 700 acres and left 73 homes without power.

The Courthouse Fire was showing very active fire behavior, according to the Arizona State Forestry.

Fire fighters were able to slow the fire activity and say that the fire has burned most of the heavy fuel that helped to build the fire.

Tonopah is located off Interstate 10, about 20 miles west of Buckeye.

Additional resources, including airplanes and more fire engines, were called in to battle the blaze.
