Closures on I-10 in East Valley, I-17 in Phoenix among weekend restrictions

PHOENIX — Closures across the Valley this weekend will hinder drivers as maintenance and construction resume, according to state transportation officials.

In the East Valley, westbound Interstate 10 will be closed from the Loop 202 Santan Freeway to the U.S. 60 from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Saturday for the Broadway Curve Improvement Project.

All Loop 202 ramps connecting to the westbound I-10 near Chandler, as well as the southbound State Route 143 ramp connecting to eastbound I-10, will be closed during that time.

The eastbound I-10 will be closed between the U.S. 60 and the Loop 202 Santan Freeway from 10 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Monday for paving and bridge work.

The westbound U.S. 60 ramp to eastbound I-10 and eastbound I-10 on-ramps at 40th Street and Broadway Road will be closed during that time. The eastbound U.S. 60 off- and on-ramps at Mill Avenue will also be closed.

In north Phoenix, southbound I-17 will be closed between the Loop 101 and Cactus Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a pavement improvement project.

On-ramps on southbound I-17 at Pinnacle Peak and Deer Valley roads will be closed for the pavement project.

The northbound Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway will see closures between Grand and 75th avenues from 9 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Saturday for pavement sealing. Then, the southbound Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway between 75th Avenue and Thunderbird Road from 9 p.m. Saturday to 7 p.m. Sunday will be closed.

Finally, the eastbound U.S. 60 on-ramp at McClintock Drive will be closed from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Monday for maintenance.
