Closures on 3 Valley freeways among restrictions for weekend drivers

Closures along three freeways are among the restrictions that will affect Valley drivers over the weekend, according to ADOT.

PHOENIX — Closures on three freeways are among the restrictions that will affect Valley drivers over the weekend, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

In the East Valley, the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway eastbound will be closed between 40th Street and the Interstate 10 for lane striping on Saturday from 3 a.m. until 8 p.m.

The Loop 202 eastbound ramps to I-10 in the Ahwatukee area and the on-ramp at 24th Street will also be closed during this time.

Construction will also close the Loop 202 northbound ramp to I-10 eastbound from 10 p.m. Friday until 10 p.m. Sunday. During this time, the Loop 202 northbound HOV lane ramp to I-10 eastbound will remain open.

Further east, pavement improvements will close the Loop 101 Price Freeway northbound between Loop 202 and Warner Road in Chandler from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. The Loop 101 northbound on-ramp at Price Road and all Loop 202 ramps to the Loop 101 northbound will also be closed during this time.

In the West Valley, the Loop 303 southbound will be closed between Greenway and Waddell roads from 10 p.m. Friday until noon on Saturday for the installation of a message sign and traffic flow sensors.

Installation of a message sign and traffic flow sensors will also close the Loop 303 northbound between Northern Parkway and Peoria Avenue from 10 p.m. Saturday until noon on Sunday.

The westbound Northern Parkway ramp to the Loop 303 northbound will also be closed during this time.

North of Phoenix, Arizona Public Service’s installation of an overhead power line will cause intermittent closures of up to 20 minutes near Pioneer Road from 8 p.m. Saturday until 1 p.m. Sunday.

Finally, a widening project will close the Loop 101 eastbound on-ramp at 64th Street and the eastbound off-ramp at Scottsdale Road for approximately 60 days beginning at 9 p.m. Sunday.
