Prosecutors drop case against ‘looksmaxxing’ streamer Clavicular after Scottsdale arrest

PHOENIX — The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office said Wednesday it will not pursue charges against Braden Peters after the 20-year-old streamer known as Clavicular was arrested in Scottsdale over the weekend.

The Scottsdale Police Department took Peters into custody on Saturday night on suspicion of possessing a forged instrument, using a fake ID to enter a liquor establishment and possessing dangerous drugs.

“This case was turned down due to no reasonable likelihood of conviction,” an MCAO spokesperson told KTAR News 92.3 FM in an email. “That’s all the information we can provide at this time.”

Under the name Clavicular, Peters is a well-known social media influencer within the “looksmaxxing” community, which is centered around the idea of maximizing physical appearance, sometimes through extreme and potentially dangerous means.

Why was Clavicular arrested in Scottsdale?

Court documents said bike patrol officers noticed Peters walking around Old Town Scottsdale around 11 p.m. with a large group and cameras following him. He attempted to get into Cake Nightclub before walking away.

He was seen going around the corner to Casa Amigos and was allowed inside, according to the probable cause statement for his arrest. Knowing Peters was under 21, officers asked the nightclub’s staff to remove him.

After he was escorted out, Peters showed officers an ID confirming he was under 21. He was handcuffed and taken into custody around 11:20 p.m.

During the arrest, police found a fraudulent ID that falsely indicated Peters was over 21 in his wallet and two loose prescription pills in his pocket.

Police identified one pill as Adderall, a stimulant for treating ADHD that contains amphetamines, and the other as Anavar, an anabolic steroid. Peters did not have a prescription for either drug.

Peters was released without bail on his own recognizance after his initial court appearance, although a prosecutor asked for a monetary bond for the Florida resident.

“A $25,000 bond for basically being inside a bar is wildly disproportionate,” the influencer said during a Kick livestream following his release. “That’s exactly what my lawyer argued and seems like the judge agreed.”

Peters told his followers he spent the night in jail.

“It’s so funny,” he said on the livestream. “I was inside of lockup with other people who had the exact same charge. They were let go immediately with no charges, so, you know, it’s interesting. Very interesting.”

Who is Clavicular and why is he famous?

While looksmaxxing content covers a range of advice, Clavicular is notable for promoting particularly extreme and controversial methods of improving his physical appearance during livestreams and interviews.

For example, he has discussed using methamphetamines for “leanmaxxing,” a term used in the looksmaxxing community to describe strategies for staying lean.

“I use crystal meth. It’s a methamphetamine for — as a stimulant, and to leanmaxx,” he said in a podcast interview with Jack Neel in November 2025. “I’m pretty much using meth for hollow cheeks.”
