Child sexual abuse material found on man’s phone at Arizona port of entry

PHOENIX — A Mexican man trying to enter Arizona was arrested last week after authorities allegedly found child sexual abuse material on his cellphone.

Alan Xavier Cabrera, 27, was arrested at the port of entry in San Luis, Arizona last Friday, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona.

Agents examined his cellphone based on his behavior and found various images of children under the age of 10 being sexually abused by men, prosecutors said.

Cabrera now faces a charge of possessing child pornography. A maximum penalty for people convicted of this crime is 20 years in prison.

Although Homeland Security is investigating this case, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona is handling the prosecution.
