2 Phoenix men accused of 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in separate cases

Two Phoenix men were arrested last month after lengthy investigations into child sexual abuse material, authorities announced Thursday.

Ulises Sanchez Sosa was arrested on May 19, and Neil Cowie was arrested on May 28, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Multiple electronic devices were seized from each man’s residence as part of separate monthslong investigations, DPS said.

Sosa, 27, was booked into jail on 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and had his bond set at $250,000.

Cowie, 64, also is suspected of 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. His bond was set at $200,000.

DPS Intelligence Bureau Operations District detectives made the arrests in partnership with Arizona Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and Phoenix Police Department.

“These arrests demonstrate the strength of our partnerships and our shared commitment to safeguarding children,” Major Bill Beck, director of the Arizona Counter Terrorism Information Center, said in media release. “Our detectives, along with our ICAC and Phoenix Police partners, work relentlessly to bring child predators to justice.”
