Forbes says Chase Field one of MLB’s worst ballparks

A new list by Forbes, ranked the Arizona Diamondbacks' Chase Field 27th on the list of the best MLB stadiums, making it the fourth-worst.

PHOENIX — Apparently air-conditioning is not the only thing that matters when making a good baseball stadium.

A list, put together by Forbes, ranked all 30 Major League Baseball teams’ stadiums from best to worst and Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, didn’t do so hot.

Chase Field, formerly Bank One Ballpark, was ranked 27th on the list, making it the fourth-worst ballpark in the league.

The writer had some not-so-great things to say about our beloved stadium.

“Chase Field, which, while a retractable roof was mandatory in sweltering Phoenix, feels more like an airplane hangar inside,” Maury Brown wrote.

The San Francisco Giants’ AT&T Park made the top spot, while the Tampa Bay Rays’ Tropicana Field rounded out the list at 30th.

While Chase Field may not be ranked the highest, it does have some great food and it will be adding more options this year.

The team announced that Portillo’s, Gonzo’s Grill and Dutch Bros will be among the new concessions added to the stadium this season.

The D-backs will celebrate their 20th anniversary as a Major League team this year as they work to start the season in the win column on Opening Day this Thursday.

They will welcome the Colorado Rockies to start a three-game series before they take on the rival Los Angeles Dodgers on April 2.
