Chandler police arrest man accused of neglecting elderly mother who later died

Chandler police arrested a 64-year-old man in connection with the death of his elderly mother who was under his care, authorities announced.

Allen Page was taken into custody after an extensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of 84-year-old Mary Elenz, the Chandler Police Department said.

The investigation began in September 2025 after officers were notified about Elenz’s death. Hospice care staff called to her Chandler home to check on her found her unresponsive and living in extremely poor physical and environmental conditions, according to police.

Elenz died the following day.

Detectives developed probable cause showing Page failed to provide necessary care and medical attention for his mother. Authorities said Page was responsible for Elenz’s personal and financial care and knew her condition was deteriorating.

Page faces several charges, including second-degree murder, vulnerable adult abuse and four counts of misconduct involving weapons by a prohibited possessor.

The criminal investigation remains active.
