Chandler Center for the Arts to close for 4-month renovation

PHOENIX — Chandler Center for the Arts will close all three of its theaters this summer for a major renovation addressing aging infrastructure and patron accessibility.

The project, scheduled from June 15 through Oct. 15, will replace all theatrical seating, carpet and flooring original to the 36-year-old facility.

Updated lighting and renumbered seats are also planned to improve wayfinding for patrons and volunteer ushers.

“This renovation allows us to elevate the patron experience while making important investments in the core systems that support our artists, staff, volunteers and community,” general manager Michelle Mac Lennan said

Beyond cosmetic upgrades, crews will fix up fire sprinkler systems, theatrical rigging and electrical infrastructure.

The center will continue programming at alternative locations during the closure. The Free Summer Concert Series will move to Chandler Community Center from July through August, Ballet Under the Stars will perform in downtown Chandler in September, and The Concert Truck will return for a third year with free performances at multiple downtown locations.

A grand reopening is planned in conjunction with the 2026 Center Stage Gala in October.
