PHOENIX — A man was arrested Monday morning after admitting to armed robbery and possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal trespassing, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

MCSO deputies were called to the 6100 block of E. Peak View in Cave Creek for an armed robbery call for 29-year-old suspect Jeremiah Weaver.

Weaver knew the victim of the robbery, deputies said. The two met at a gas station Sunday morning when the victim invited Weaver to let him stay at his residence.

On Monday morning, the victim noticed that Weaver had opened a safe in the residence. Weaver hit the victim over the head with a glass object, took out a .22 caliber handgun that belonged to the victim and ordered the victim into the bathroom at gunpoint, MCSO said.

MCSO said Weaver then took a bag, filled it with the victim’s belongings he fled the residence.

MCSO deputies arrived on scene and searched the area extensively using K-9s, helicopters and ground support. Several homes around the neighborhood were also checked by authorities.

Phoenix PD received a call Monday morning about a suspicious person at The Goddard School in Cave Creek who matched the description of Weaver.

MCSO detectives interviewed Weaver and booked him into the Fourth Avenue Jail.
