Cattle still one of Arizona’s chief industries

Arizona is historically known for its five C’s: Copper, cotton, climate, citrus and of course … cattle.
While enticing high-tech companies to the Grand Canyon State is the implied economic way of the future, Arizona is still thriving with one of its original industries.
“We have our own ranch called the Boulder Ranch,” said Greg Bernett, President of Arizona Grass Raised Beef. “We also have producer ranchers, other Arizona ranchers all over the state.”
Our cattle are being raised on around two million acres across the state, he said.
“They have to be born in Arizona, they have to be born in an Arizona ranch, they have to be raised in Arizona, they cannot leave the state, for us to use them in our producer programs,” he said.
Those programs require cattle to be grass-fed with no grains, no corn, no antibiotics and no hormones.
