A California teenager died over the weekend after apparently crashing a personal watercraft at Lake Havasu in northwestern Arizona.

PHOENIX – A California teenager died over the weekend after apparently crashing a personal watercraft at Lake Havasu in northwestern Arizona, authorities said.
The 17-year-old boy from Moreno Valley was operating the watercraft by himself Saturday when family members on shore lost sight of him, according to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
A passing boater found him face down in the water, wearing a life jacket.

The teen was taken to shore south of the Body Beach area, where CPR was administered.
He was then transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities believe the California teenager was involved in a single-vehicle crash.
The investigation is ongoing. No other details were made available.
