Department of Public Safety detectives said five bullets hits a white car heading north on Loop 101 near the Broadway Road exit in Tempe and the shot were fired from a maroon vehicle.
The shooter hit the passenger-side door.

Last summer, the Valley was rocked by a series of freeway shootings mostly along Interstate 10. There were 11 shootings from late August to mid-September. A suspect was arrested for four but charges against Leslie Merritt were dropped in the spring.
The landscaper had been indicted on charges for four of the shootings that included drive-by shootings and aggravated assault.
