Brush fire in north Phoenix burns around 40 acres, slows traffic
A brush fire near State Route 51 in north Phoenix closed the transition ramp to the eastbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway on Friday, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A brush fire near State Route 51 in north Phoenix has burned around 40 acres, authorities said.
Fire crews from multiple jurisdictions are working to contain the fire.
The fire in north Phoenix had closed the northbound SR 51 transition ramp to the eastbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway around 2:15 p.m., causing traffic delays, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The ramp reopened around 5:10 p.m.
There have been no reported injuries.
No other information was immediately available.
