PHOENIX – A man is dead and his brother-in-law is accused of murder after a domestic violence shooting in Avondale last month, authorities said.

ABC15 reported that the shooting occurred during an argument over barking dogs.

Officers responded to an unknown trouble call near El Mirage and Broadway roads around 8 p.m. on Nov. 25, according to the Avondale Police Department.

They learned that Socorro Tena, 26, allegedly shot his brother-in-law at the home where they both lived, police said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as Luis Jimenez-Hunter, according to ABC15.

Police said Tena was arrested and booked into jail on three felony counts: second-degree murder, disorderly conduct with a firearm and discharging a firearm in city limits.
