A portion of Broadway Road in Phoenix closed on Tuesday as firefighters battle a scrapyard fire, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A portion of Broadway Road in Phoenix closed on Tuesday as firefighters battle a scrapyard fire, authorities said.

Around 11:30 a.m., crews responded to a large fire at a scrapyard near 23rd Avenue and Broadway Road, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

Upon arrival, firefighters used hand lines and hose streams from ladder trucks to put out the fire.

Authorities said there were no injuries in the fire. The cause of the fire is not known and is under investigation.

Authorities said Broadway Road between 19th and 27th avenues will be closed for a couple of hours as firefighters continue to put out the fire.

" The whole area needs bulldozed and buried". In other words a perfect place for a scrap yard, and auto wrecking yards.
