PHOENIX – A body found in Glendale earlier this month has been identified as a missing Phoenix man, authorities announced Thursday.

The case is now being investigated as a homicide, the Glendale Police Department said.

A body was found in a water retention area near 56th and Peoria avenues just before 8 a.m. on Nov. 11.

Meanwhile, 30-year-old Grant Siefert had been reported missing a day earlier. He was last seen alive near 19th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.

Police seek help identifying homicide suspect

Investigators eventually identified the body found in Glendale as Seifert. They believe he arrived in the vicinity of the water retention area around 1 a.m. on Nov. 11.

The suspect is believed to be driving Seifert’s SUV, a black 2011 Ford Escape with Arizona temporary license plate 392635U.

Anybody with information about the vehicle or its occupants, or who may have heard or seen anything related to the case, is asked to call the Glendale Police Department at 623-930-3000.
