PHOENIX — One person was left dead after a fire erupted at a Buckeye residence early Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Deputies with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence near Miller and Baseline roads shortly after 3 a.m.

They found the residence actively burning with flames, which they could see through multiple windows.

Firefighters with the Buckeye Fire Department put out the fire.

After that, authorities searched the residence and found the body.

Arson investigators with MCSO have taken over the investigation.
