Two women are being treated for serious burns after a boat exploded on Lake Havasu last week, authorities said.

They were on a 28-foot Commander boat floating near the Nautical Launch Ramp on Lake Havasu when the fire broke out on Friday, according to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.

The two women, aged 26 and 55, were brought to a nearby hospital and then flown to another hospital for treatment for their burns.

Fire crews found the boat still burning and worked to extinguish the flames from their patrol boats, according to a social media post the department shared Monday.

Crews kept the burning boat away from other boats that were floating on Lake Havasu.

The two victims of the boat explosion are from Ontario, California.
