PHOENIX – Arizona’s two Democratic U.S. senators ripped President’s Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” after their Republican colleagues passed it Tuesday.
Sens. Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego described the legislation’s tax breaks and spending cuts as a handout to the ultrawealthy.
“Trump and congressional Republicans chose the billionaires,” Kelly said in a statement. “While families across Arizona are trying to afford groceries or take their kids to the doctor, this bill gives another tax break to the ultrawealthy — so they can buy another private jet.”
The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which now goes back the House for approval, passed the Senate by the narrowest of margins after an overnight voting session.
“We were up all night fighting this thing for the millions of Americans who will be worse off because of this tax bill,” Gallego said in a statement.
How Gallego tried to change ‘Big Beautiful Bill’
Gallego proposed an amendment Monday to protect Medicaid funding for substance use disorder treatment.
“For many, Medicaid is the only way to afford the treatment they need,” he said on the Senate floor.
Republicans blocked Gallego’s amendment during a marathon “vota-a-rama” session that ended with Vice President JD Vance’s tiebreaking vote.
Three Republicans joined all the Senate Democrats in voting against the legislation..
“I hoped more of my Republican colleagues would have the guts to stand up to Donald Trump, and now they’ll have to explain it to the people they represent,” Kelly said.
Kelly encouraged Arizonans who oppose the bill to call their representatives.
“This bill isn’t law yet; it still has to pass the House,” he said. “So, if you’re an American who’s tired of watching Washington work for the wealthy instead of you—pick up the phone.”

If anyone thinks billionaires are going to cover the cost of immigration, apparently your completely wrong. It's more than apparent the libs idea of flooding the country with the "less fortunate" to force the rich to "pay up" is a bill that's landing squarely on the once middle classes shoulders.
We're getting nailed hard by both parties and desperately need a non corrupt 3rd.
