Ballet Arizona to perform outdoors at Desert Botanical Garden

PHOENIX – The beauty of the desert and the grace of ballet will come together under the night sky this month in what’s become an annual Phoenix tradition.

For the sixth consecutive year, Ballet Arizona will present a series of outdoor performances at the Desert Botanical Garden.

The company will perform “Eroica” at the venue Tuesday through Saturday nights from May 14 through June 1.

Tickets for the 15 shows, which start at $48 plus fees, are available at the Ballet Arizona website.

“Eroica” was choreographed to Beethoven’s Third Symphony by Ib Andersen, Ballet Arizona’s artistic director, and debuted last year at the Desert Botanical Garden.

“This ballet will leave you with an uplifting message and belief that in human nature, good survives over bad,” Anderson said in a press release.

“This is not a story ballet — it’s an emotional ballet. I want to connect on an emotional level and I want you to be moved and not even understand why you are feeling that way.”
