Arizona traffic stop for canceled license plate results in 3 arrests after drugs, gun found

A traffic stop for a canceled license plate in Arizona last week ended with three people being arrested on multiple charges, authorities said.

A Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputy pulled over a van in Cordes Junction on May 29 for displaying a paper copy of an original plate, which had been canceled.

During the stop, 43-year-old Mario Paddock fled from deputies before he was detained and discovered to have a felony warrant out of Coconino County.

Additionally, authorities found around 2 lbs. of methamphetamine, fentanyl pills, a glass pipe, a scale, empty bindles and a firearm.

The other two people arrested were identified as 49-year-old Tamara Yazzie and 53-year-old Margaret Nelson.
