Arizona Department of Gaming launches responsible gambling training initiative

PHOENIX — Placing a bet has never been easier, and the Arizona Department of Gaming is seeking to provide some guardrails to help foster responsible gambling throughout the state.

The Arizona authority released its “Responsible Gaming Training” initiative on Tuesday, which is a free-to-use training resource that can be done at your desired pace.

The gambling training is made up of three parts, each with three learning modules and optional quizzes at the end of each part, according to a press release.

The first section teaches current or future gamblers about the basics of what they are getting into, the second about positive play and “understanding gambling advertising” and the third about getting help or engaging with those who may need help.

This new online training is not just for those engaging in gambling but for “tribal partners and casino employees (all levels)” and “(betting) agency regulators” as well.

In total, the training is expected to take an individual about three hours, the release said.

Those interested in learning more about the training package can register online for a virtual webinar on April 28 at 10 a.m. MST.

Arizona Department of Gaming also recently launched a new series of public service announcements on TV, radio and smartphones (“Take Back the Game”) to promote a program designed to help people step away from gambling.
