Suspects in attempted armed robbery still at large, Scottsdale police say

PHOENIX — Scottsdale police are looking for two suspects behind an attempted armed robbery on Monday.

The Scottsdale Police Department said the incident took place at a business near Scottsdale and Indian Bend roads around 4:40 p.m.

The suspects broke a display case with expensive eyeglasses frames, police said.

However, the suspects didn’t steal merchandise from the store because employees tried to stop them.

The suspects sprayed pepper spray at the employees before fleeing on foot, police said.

The Scottsdale Police Department labeled the assault as an attempted armed robbery due to the use of pepper spray.

The three injured employees were treated by emergency paramedics at the scene but didn’t want to be brought to a hospital, police said.
