Arrest made in Phoenix apartment fire death

Phoenix Police have arrested a man and charged him with the murder of his pregnant girlfriend and unborn child in an apartment fire.

Police were called after city firefighters extinguished a small blaze inside an
apartment about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and found the body of 21-year-old Shaniqua
Hall in a bedroom.

“We are alleging that this is a premeditated murder, in that the suspect bound the victim and set her on fire in the apartment and that he did this just a few hours after purchasing the materials to commit the crime,” said Phoenix Police Sgt. Trent Crump.

Dwandarrius J. Robinson was arrested on two counts of first-degree murder Thursday morning, a day after the fire at the complex 1450 E. Bell Road. Hall was due to give birth within the next two to three weeks.

Crump said Hall was bound with duct tape.

Phoenix Police Department homicide and arson investigators were on-scene Wednesday, the Phoenix Fire Department said.
